Oconto Electric Cooperative does many things to promote electrical safety. Safety demonstrations are offered to schools, businesses, and clubs; articles appear in this publication; and inspections of electric services - these are just a few things done to continuously promote electrical safety to our members and the public each year.

Another way we promote electrical safety to children is to sponsor a poster contest for local 3rd, 4th and 5th graders each year.

Students are invited to make posters using any medium they choose. The subject of the poster must be about electrical safety.

This year OEC received about 200 entries. One poster from each grade is selected as being the best. The employees at our RadioShack store had the honor this year of picking out the winning posters.

Each winner is given a gift from OEC’s RadioShack store and their class is given a pizza party. It’s hard to say who enjoys the pizza parties more - the students or the OEC employees.
This year’s winners all happen to be from the Oconto Falls area, they are: Sean, third-grader at St. Anthony’s School in Oconto Falls, Vanessa, fourth-grader at Oconto Falls Elementary School and Megan, fifth-grader also at Oconto Falls Elementary School.
