Oconto Electric Cooperative's Electric Water Heater Program

Commercial

OEC sells two brands of electric water heaters - Marathon and Richmond. Here are some features specific to each brand. Due to the high temperatures required, OEC will sell only Marathon water heaters to dairy farms.

Marathon

  • Seamless, blow-molded polybutylene tank is impervious to rust or corrosion
  • Foam insulation blankets entire unit for maximum energy savings
  • Bowl-shaped tank bottom allows for more complete sediment drainage
  • An all-plastic inner tank eliminates the need for an anode rod - preventing potential odor problem
  • Bottom element is Teflon-coated stainless steel for extended life
  • Warranty information:
    • Five-year parts and labor warranty for most small commercial applications
    • Three-year parts and labor warranty for dairy and agribusiness applications
    • OEC limited extended warranty (applies after manufacturer's warranty expires). OEC will replace up to two thermostats and/or two elements per heater, per year for up to ten years from installation date
    • After all warranties expire, OEC will provide parts and labor at 25% discount

Richmond

  • Warranty Information:
    • 6-year tank warranty
    • one-year manufacturer warranty on parts and labor
    • OEC limited extended warranty (applies after manufacturer's warranty expires). OEC will replace up to two thermostats and/or two elements per heater, per year for up to ten years from installation date
    • After all warranties expire, OEC will provide parts and labor at 25% discount

*Prices listed are after the load management rebate has been issued. Pricing also requires a minimum of 5-years participation in OEC's Load Management Program. OEC will install the load management receiver at no cost after the water heater has been installed.
