Community “Change”
Charitable fund to improve the lives and communities of the area

Since 1999 Oconto Electric Cooperative members have had the opportunity to participate in a wonderful program called Community “Change” . Members can choose to have their electric bills rounded up to the next whole dollar with the extra “change” going into the Community “Change” fund. All money donated by OEC members is matched by Bay Lakes Companies, LLC.

A Community “Change” board of directors, separate from OEC or Bay Lakes , meets quarterly to consider applications for Community “Change” grants. Money is available to charitable organizations, civic groups and individuals who have had catastrophic events in their lives such as a house fire or illness.

One hundred percent of Community “Change” donations go into the fund. To date, Community “Change” has awarded over $70,000 to clubs, charities, organizations and individuals all over northeastern Wisconsin .

Members who choose to contribute to Community “Change” give an average of $6.00 per year. Members can choose to contribute more by simply specifying a dollar amount to be added to their electric bill each month addition to the rounded up amount. For example, you can choose to round up to the next whole dollar plus contribute another dollar each month.

If you are an OEC member, please consider signing up as a contributor. It is one of the most rewarding things you can do for literally pennies a month.

You do not have to be a member or customer of OEC or Bay Lakes Companies, LLC to be eligible for a grant from Community “Change” .
